Software

• FreeBSD is the operating system of choice.
• I advocate Open Source Software, preferring the BSD license.

Personal Stuff

Nasty Hacks

• I made a dirty hack for abook 0.5.0 that adds functionality to the h and l keys when in the editor. This is very simple but nice to vi/vim users. Get the patch here.
• My server runs jails to seperate processes in the event of it being compromised. This caused problems for a web frontend to PPP. I wrote some PHP code that is run from one jail (IP address) and a Perl daemon that does the actual dirty work. This is pretty dirty but it does the job. No authentication, nothing. I might work on this. Download the PHP code here (version 0.1) and the Perl daemon here (version 0.1). You can probably look at how the daemon works and write your own front-end.
